Vocabulary Exercises

Having a fluent command of a broad and rich vocabulary is one of the most important factors in feeling, and making others feel, that you truly master the language.

Our vocabulary exercises are focused on that goal, approaching learning from different angles: translating words, practising their correct use within sentences, etc.

There is an enormous amount of material, allowing you to start from the most basic levels (A1) and progress to the most advanced (C2). To do so, you can adjust the exercise level to your CEFR level at any given moment — something you will find in very few other places.

Practise vocabulary by word class

The following exercises focus specifically on the different essential word classes: nouns and verbs are the pillars of the lexicon, adjectives and adverbs add precision and nuance, and prepositions and conjunctions, though few in number, are the "glue" that holds everything together and multiply your ability to build natural, complex structures.

Practise each word class separately or mix them all at once to put yourself to the test.

Numbers, Time and Measurements

In this section you can find exercises for the basic elements of the language such as numbers, dates, times or units of measurement — vocabulary you will need very often to communicate in practically any everyday situation.
